Homeless man set on fire in Graz: perpetrator on the run

According to the police, a perpetrator who was still on the run may have poured a flammable liquid on the homeless man and set him on fire. The 52-year-old Hungarian may have slept in a business entrance. Witnesses saw a man walking away from the store with a canister, then a fire had broken out and a person was on fire.

Perpetrator 40 to 50 years old

The victim was taken to the Graz Regional Hospital with severe burns. According to the doctors treating him, the man is in a life-threatening condition. A search for the perpetrator has so far been unsuccessful. The man is said to be 40 to 50 years old and around 1.70 meters tall. According to the witnesses, he was wearing dark clothing. The State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation.
