Military servants came to the aid of women
The 21-year-old victim was seriously injured by stab wounds on Sunday evening. The young man had come to the aid of women who were being harassed by a group of teenagers. They reacted extremely aggressively and attacked the 21-year-old. They chased him and one stabbed him. The young man suffered cuts and stab wounds to his back and thigh. Due to the serious wound on the foot, the police had to apply a so-called tourniquet to stop the bleeding. After emergency medical care from the Vienna professional rescue service, the military serviceman was taken to a hospital. There was no danger to life.

After the attack, the suspect fled and investigations into attempted murder were initiated by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, southern branch. Interrogations, viewing of video surveillance recordings and further research were carried out.
Syrian not confessed
Through these intensive investigations, the 20-year-old was tracked down and arrested on Friday around 12.30 p.m. in an apartment in Favoritn, which was not his, on the basis of an arrest order from the Vienna public prosecutor’s office. Possible murder weapons were seized. The Syrian did not confess during his interrogation and spoke of false accusations. He is now in a prison. Further investigations are ongoing, explained Schuster. The other members of the group should also be investigated.

FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl announced in a broadcast on Saturday that he wanted to create an “Alliance for the Security of Austrians”. This makes a concrete offer to the other parliamentary parties to take immediate measures “to ensure the safety of our compatriots and to protect Austria from the new migration of peoples that is still ongoing.” Kickl once again demanded that we “finally stop illegal immigration,” provide more police officers and lower the age of criminal responsibility and ability to commit crimes. “My door is always open for serious negotiations to implement these emergency measures.”
