The prince and princess were “very touched” by the kind messages from people across the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world, a spokesman for Kensington Palace said on Sunday night.
“They are very moved by the public’s warmth and support and grateful for their understanding of their desire for privacy at this time,” said the statement, which was quoted by the British news agency PA.
