23,000 visitors to Aqaro in 100 days

Most visitors came to the new Aquaro on January 4th.

The Aqaro district indoor swimming pool in Rohrbach-Berg has been open for exactly 100 days. Reason enough for the site’s mayor, Andreas Lindorfer, to take stock: “We have already welcomed around 23,000 visitors to the Aqaro. That means an average of almost 300 visitors per opening day,” says Lindorfer happily. All the more so because this number is calculated without the numerous school groups. The previous peak day was January 4th with 592 bathers. The forecast of 55,000 visitors per year is therefore expected to be easily achieved.

Of course, some childhood illnesses also had to be cured. “In order to guarantee the water quality, we had to supply a large amount of fresh water. Of course, this also led to temperature fluctuations,” he explains. In addition, the temperature display initially did not work optimally. “The water temperature being too low also led to some complaints. However, we are now at a constant 30.5 degrees in the family pool and 26.5 degrees in the sports pool,” explains Lindorfer. In principle, however, it is not easy to please everyone: “We still sometimes get feedback that the water is too cold. But for the sport swimmers it is sometimes too warm. The perception of temperature is also very subjective.” What particularly bothers him is the way in which feedback is sometimes expressed: “Employees are often insulted extremely badly for the smallest things. I have no understanding for that.”

There is still room for improvement in school swimming. If usage does not increase, public swimming times could be expanded. The result could be an adjustment to the opening times for short morning swimming, which was previously only offered twice a week. “We are monitoring visitors’ usage behavior very closely and are certainly sharpening it.”

In summer the Aqaro remains closed

Season tickets for the Rohrbach outdoor pool will be available from April 16th. Admission to the indoor pool in June is included – but both pools will not be open at the same time, but only one at a time, depending on the weather. From July 1st to September 16th the indoor swimming pool will say goodbye to the summer break.
