Pedestrian (27) hit and abandoned at zebra crossing in Linz: Witnesses sought

A 27-year-old pedestrian was run down on a protective path on Freistädter Straße on Sunday morning and the driver ran away. A cyclist discovered the injured person lying on a grass verge a short time later. She brought her home because the 27-year-old initially didn’t want to alert rescue services, the police reported.

The mother of the injured person then called the emergency number. Her daughter was admitted to Kepler University Hospital.

Advice requested

It was not known how serious their injuries were. Witnesses to the accident, which is believed to have occurred around 6:45 a.m., are asked to contact the Linz traffic inspection (Tel.: 059133 / 454800).
