Aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Ministry of Defense with people evacuated from Afghanistan on Saturday, December 18, landed at the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow.
“Military transport aircraft Il-76 of the Russian Ministry of Defense, involved in the evacuation of citizens from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, landed at the Chkalovsky airfield in the Moscow region,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that there are about 200 citizens of the Russian Federation and Afghanistan on board.
Passengers are currently undergoing customs and testing for coronavirus infection.
Earlier on Saturday, Il-76 planes delivered 36 tons of humanitarian aid to Kabul. In total, the aviation group created by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, three aircraft. They flew to Afghanistan from the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow.
