Sepp Forcher is dead

The television career of the native Roman was a highly unlikely one – from a hut landlord to a TV star, so to speak. Forcherwho died on December 17, 1930 as Giuseppe Forcher was born in the Italian capital and grew up in Sesto (South Tyrol), supported his parents in their work in the mountains as a child. Since 1940 the family lived in Salzburg, where they managed a hut in the Tennengebirge.

He remained connected to the mountains when he worked as a mountaineer and mineral seeker, among other things. He began his work for ORF with radio programs such as “Ins Land einischaun” or “Mit’m Sepp into the weekend “. The big breakthrough finally followed with the” Klingendes Österreich “format, which went on air for the first time in 1986.

The ORF confirmed Forcher’s death on Sunday morning. Only in spring 2020 did he end his TV career and hand over the season to his successor Hans Knauß.
