As a spokesman for the Potsdam Administrative Court said on Tuesday, the court has received a corresponding urgent application from Sellner. This is therefore directed against an order from the Brandenburg state capital, with which it declared the loss of the right to freedom of movement applicable in the EU.

The court initially found no evidence of urgency. According to the spokesman, comment periods last two weeks.

Criminal consequences

Last week, the city of Potsdam banned Sellner from staying in or entering the Federal Republic of Germany. From now on, the federal police can refuse Sellner entry at the border. Entering the country contrary to the ban can have criminal consequences.

Sellner is a leading figure in the right-wing extremist “Identitarian Movement” in German-speaking countries. According to research by the Correctiv network, he was one of the speakers at the Potsdam secret meeting of AfD members and right-wing extremists in November 2023, at which the mass expulsion of people with a migrant background from Germany was said to have been discussed.
