Radiology patients can now also register online for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination at the Rohrbach Clinic. The only requirement for online registration is a referral from a general practitioner, specialist or an outpatient clinic. “We enable our patients to register on our homepage quickly, easily and conveniently,” says the head of the radiology department, Primaria Julia Röper-Kelmayr, who carries out the MRI examinations with her team.
Diverse areas of application
The MRI at the Rohrbach Clinic is available to both hospital patients and assigned patients for diagnostic clarification. It provides the best basis for diagnosis in diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system such as bone fractures, muscle and joint injuries or torn ligaments. It is also used for clarification after a stroke and for diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Other areas of application include vascular surgery and the characterization of liver lesions.
No x-rays
When generating MRI images, no X-rays are used, but rather magnetic fields and radio waves. They provide cross-sectional images of affected patients’ bodies with the highest level of detail. “The possibility of registering online for MRI examinations is a further step towards making administrative processes in our clinic quicker and more efficient and therefore even more patient-friendly,” says Primary Kostja Steiner, medical director at Rohrbach Clinic. Online registration is currently only possible for MRI examinations. Registration can also be done by telephone. Registrations for computer tomography examinations are still only possible by telephone. Appointments for MRI and CT are available from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. possible at 05 055477-26701.
