87,000 euros in damage: car wheel thief was “severely” sentenced to two years

The Lithuanian was sentenced to 24 months without parole.

Hohenzell in the Ried district, Bad Leonfelden, Scheiblberg in the Rohrbach district, Liezen in the Styrian Ennstal and Hollabrunn in Lower Austria: a burglar from Lithuania specialized in car dealerships.

The perpetrator wasn’t interested in the vehicles, but rather in the wheels. According to the prosecution, the 28-year-old stole complete bikes worth a total of 87,000 euros.

To do this, he jacked up the cars on wooden blocks so that he could dismantle his loot. After he was caught by the police, he confessed as the investigation continued.

The verdict that came down on Wednesday – 24 months unconditional – is already legally binding.
