27-year-old from Vöcklabruck resuscitated cyclist

Dramatic scenes took place on Tuesday morning in the municipality of Weißenkirchen im Attergau (Vöcklabruck district): A 67-year-old from the Ried im Innkreis district collapsed during a bike ride. The man was lucky in misfortune: a 27-year-old car driver from Vöcklabruck found the accident victim lying in the middle of a freight road near the town of Reittern just minutes after the fall.

The Vöcklabruck reacted quickly and correctly: He immediately called the rescue team and checked the cyclist’s pulse. When he couldn’t detect a heartbeat, he began resuscitation measures. The rescue team and emergency doctor arrived shortly afterwards and continued resuscitation. They were able to bring the Innviertler back to life. The man was taken to a hospital, police said on Wednesday evening.
