In Algeria, during the celebration of the victory of the national football team, two people died and at least 40 were injured. This was announced on Sunday, December 19, by Anadolu Agency, citing the country’s civil protection department.

The Algerian national team defeated the Tunisian team a day earlier during the tournament, which was held in Qatar. Fans across the country began to celebrate the victory of the national team.

As the Algerian Civil Protection Department clarifies, 40 people were injured during the mass events. Also killed two young people aged 20 and 24 years. One of them crashed on a motorcycle, supplements Sport-Express.

Most of the victims were injured in falls from motorcycles and in vehicle collisions, the organization added.

On November 21, the match of the 14th round of the French Football Championship between Lyon and Marseille was interrupted at the very beginning of the first half due to the behavior of the fans. The fans did not let the Marseille players play the set, throwing various objects from the stands, including bottles. At the moment when the guests’ midfielder Dimitri Payet was about to enter the ball into the game from a corner, a bottle flew from the stands, hitting the player right in the head. The chief referee of the match, Ruddy Bucke, decided to take the teams off the field.

On October 20, journalist Alexander Schegolev was beaten by a football fan. The incident took place after the match of the third round of the Europa League group stage, in which Moscow Spartak lost to English Leicester. The attacker was Valentin Korshunov, the former leader of Fratria, a well-known fan association of Spartak fans. The man was later arrested.
