Summer days are rare in March in Austria and last occurred in 2021, 2017, 2016, 2006, 2004, 1990, 1989, 1981, 1977, 1974, 1968, 1955 and 1953. In an average year, the first day of summer occurs in mid-April. The earliest summer day in Austria’s history was recorded on March 18, 2004 (25.3 degrees in Pottschach, Lower Austria), according to Geosphere Austria.
