The author from Zell am Moos is back in action around old criminal cases

There are criminal and missing persons cases – partly also from the Vöcklabruck-Gmunden region. Norbert Blaichinger (63), true crime author from Zell am Moos, once again made his expertise available for the new season “Cold Case Austria”. The first season of this show was successful, so that ATV now had another six episodes produced.

The Zell am Mooser will be seen in several interviews in the second season of “Cold Case Austria” on the ATV broadcaster. The first episode with Blaichinger on January 8th from 8:15 p.m. is about the murder of a dance teacher in Gmunden. As is well known, the author belongs to the group that demands a retrial of the trial of Helmuth S., who has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Blaichinger: “So much sloppiness in investigations and litigation almost calls for a reopening.”

One week later (January 15), the Tibor Foco case is on the agenda. Foco had been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of prostitute Elfi Hochgatter. His alleged accomplice Peter L. was later acquitted after a retrial. “There are an unbelievable number of inconsistencies in the Foco case, not only about the key witness at the time, but also about the investigative work of the criminalists,” says Blaichinger. January 22nd is dedicated to Elfriede Schönberger from Fischlham, who disappeared in 1980. Blaichinger and ATV managed to convince the truck driver who back then wanted to see Schönberger in Amman accompanied by men to do an interview. Two weeks later there is another missing person case. Alois Wesenauer from Tiefgraben disappeared in the 1980s on the Virgin Islands. The contribution shows an international search for traces, close to the limit of the possible.
