Several police patrols were on duty in Traun (Linz-Land district) late on Saturday evening: around 11 p.m., numerous car fans and their cars had gathered in the parking lots of the supermarkets at the Trauner intersection along the B1. The police said on Sunday that it was impossible to say exactly how many people were there. Just this much: There were so many that the parking spaces were almost full and dangerous situations arose in the midst of the crowd – for example due to drifting and strong acceleration.

The officers closed the parking spaces and checked all drivers who left. There were several advertisements. In six cases the violations were so serious that the license plates had to be removed. One person involved was also arrested because there was an open warrant against him. At around 11:40 p.m. the situation had calmed down again and the measures could be lifted, the police announced on Sunday afternoon.
