Turbulent weather is expected in Upper Austria at the end of the Easter holidays: If you want to look for Easter nests outdoors on Monday, you should probably weigh them down to be on the safe side. At least that’s what a look at the current weather forecast from Geosphere Austria (formerly ZAMG) suggests.
Avoid forests and parks
The experts issued a storm warning for Upper Austria on Sunday, which will come into force from midnight. Accordingly, strong winds can be expected on Easter Monday, which can reach peaks of up to 90 km/h and in some cases more than 100 km/h in the south of the state. The foehn situation worsens during the night; the highest wind peaks are expected on Monday between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m., the state warning center specified on Sunday evening.

Walking in forests and parks is not recommended; loose objects in gardens or on balconies should be secured. Drivers are particularly urged to exercise caution on bridges and exposed roads. Power outages and delays in public transport cannot be ruled out either.
