Guests reported at lunchtime that a man had attached a suspicious object to a ski rack at a lift station. The Kleinwalsertal police station found a 15 cm long, pipe-like object wrapped in black duct tape – and evacuated the Kanzelwandbahn mountain station and the adjacent Zwerenalpbahn, and the ski area ceased operations.

The suspected object was finally identified by the defusing service as a geocaching container – a type of scavenger hunt with GPS – the Vorarlberg police said in a release. The all-clear was given at 5:30 p.m.
