It is thanks to an attentive passer-by that numerous property damage in Klausenbachstrasse in the St. Magdalena district of Linz was cleared up on the night of yesterday.
At around 2:40 a.m., the 31-year-old from Linz had seen a man pushing down several side mirrors from cars parked in the street. She immediately reported this to the police.
Due to the good description of the perpetrator, the officers were able to find the suspect a short time later at the “Ferdinand-Markl-Straße” tram stop. The perpetrator was a 48-year-old from Linz.
The police said yesterday that the man immediately behaved extremely aggressively towards the intervening officers. Since the man known in his office did not stop his behavior despite repeated warnings, he was arrested at short notice and taken to the police detention center.
As the officials found, the 48-year-old had damaged a total of eight vehicles.

He is also suspected of throwing an object at a shop on Klausenbachstrasse, thereby damaging the glass entrance door. At first it was not known whether the suspect was intoxicated. According to the police, the suspect is said to have had five full bottles of beer with him in his backpack.
