2024 is a special year for the APSK, the “Amateur Photographer and Narrow Film Club”: it is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. Founded in 1899 as the first photography club in Upper Austria, it is also one of the oldest associations in Austria.
The anniversary year will be celebrated with a separate exhibition in the Upper Austrian Cultural Quarter. This will open with a vernissage today, Thursday, at 7 p.m. The “masterpieces” by APSK members can be seen until May 9th

The range shown is broad, and a specific motto was deliberately avoided: landscapes can be discovered just as much as portraits, and artificial intelligence also plays a role. The exhibition also enables a short visual journey through time, for example when the pigeon market from around 1900 is compared with the present day.
To this day, the APSK is dedicated to photography in all its forms and facets; the association has its own darkrooms and its own photo studio. The photo club currently has 38 members – new members are always welcome.
