But that didn’t stop the Innviertel junior cross-country skiing group, founded a few years ago by Johann Gattermann from Schildorn, from showing top performances in their races. The young cross-country skiers were able to achieve strong successes in the four state cups, each of which took place on the Hutterer Boden grounds in Hinterstoder. Thomas Erhart, Benedikt Stumpfl (both SC Waldzell), Jakob Hackl and Jakob Hinterhölzl (both SU Hohenzell) as well as the siblings Alois, Cäcilia and Klara Schneiderbanger (all SC Höhnhart) achieved numerous podium places. “There haven’t been so many people from Innviertel at the state cups for years. What makes me happy is that there are regularly such good attendance at training and that the young athletes work hard on themselves,” says Gattermann. From April, regular training will be offered again on the ski roller track in Stelzen (Lohnsburg municipality).
