Czech President Milos Zeman gave up alcohol and cigarettes. He spoke about this on Sunday, December 19.
The 77-year-old president, who was recently discharged from the hospital, was ordered by doctors to give up his bad habits.
“I follow the recommendations of the doctors. They forbade me to smoke, because tobacco kills my appetite, they banned alcohol. God be with them, with strong alcoholic drinks! The doctors, however, forbade me to drink wine, which I love very much. I have been living without cigarettes and alcohol for a month now and, as you can see, I am still alive, ”Zeman shared his experiences with CNN Prima NEWS TV channel.
The head of state also urged Czech residents to be vaccinated against coronavirus, stressing that citizens of the republic should do this on a voluntary basis.
On November 28, Milos Zeman held the ceremony of appointing the new prime minister of the republic, while in a glass cube. This measure was taken due to the fact that the Czech leader was sick with coronavirus and had to be isolated.
The head of the Czech Republic, at the age of 77, suffers from neuropathy in the legs and is being treated for diabetes. In April of this year, it was noted that he was forced to move in a wheelchair. At the same time, on October 13, the media reported that doctors diagnosed the President of the Czech Republic with hepatic encephalopathy.
