Finally, in front of the spectators, the final round of the women’s indoor fistball league saw the new edition of the final of the previous season. However, the game was not for the faint of heart – neither for those of the Nussbachers nor for those of the Seekirchen fans. In the end, those from the Kremstal were allowed to celebrate: Union Schwingenschuh Nussbach prevailed in a highly dramatic game against indoor champion Askö Seekirchen with 3: 2 (11: 7, 7:11, 11: 7, 7:11, 11: 7) and went thus also leading into the new year as the championship leader.
Nussbach got off to a better start in this match, which was characterized by many attractive rallies, and won the first set with confidence. Seekirchen countered immediately: The Salzburg attackers scored with variable strokes and equalized. Also in a row, the hit rocked back and forth. Sometimes it was also very heated, which was reflected in a yellow card on the Seekirchen page. In the decision sentence, the Nussbachers then went up a gear again. The revenge for the previous defeat in the final was finally successful.
“We knew that a difficult game awaited us with defending champion Seekirchen and that it would definitely be a fight,” said captain Marlene Hieslmair after the victory, “but the revenge for the final defeat last year was successful. So you can finish the year with a fistball technique. “
Bump start against Urfahr
Before that, the Kremstaler women had clearly defeated Linz-Urfahr in their first game in the Kremsmünster district sports hall after a sleepy start with 3: 0 (13:11, 11: 8, 11: 8). Especially in the opening movement, Nussbach ran after a deficit for a long time and was only able to turn it around in overtime.
“We had difficulties at the start, Urfahr was able to take advantage of that”, analyzes attacker Ines Lugerbauer, “the more we are happy about this important victory.”
