Last week three men were investigated who committed such fraudulent acts. It is believed that in the past four years at least 50 people were equipped with cell phones and earphones and thus been smuggled through the exams. As the police announced on Monday, the investigations were not yet complete.
A 38-year-old Syrian and a 46-year-old Iraqi were caught red-handed last Monday, and a 26-year-old Syrian was identified as a contributor. The 38-year-old is said to have recruited asylum seekers and persons entitled to asylum and offered them “paid help” in completing the theoretical driving test, the police said. These have paid 3,000 to 4,000 euros and have been equipped with the appropriate technology. The 26-year-old was able to view the exam screen and enter the correct answers through an earphone.
The police are currently busy investigating the circumstances, analyzing the flow of money, evaluating the numerous seized cell phones and investigating other suspects. In addition to the acts of fraud, another cause is being investigated against the – not confessing – 38-year-old Syrian: He is receiving minimum income and could have committed serious social benefit fraud through the income from the fraud.
