The Wöhrsee resort at the foot of the world’s longest castle, including boat rentals and a kiosk, will be open on a special basis on the two expected summer days. Admission is free. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., visitors can have fun in, on and around Lake Wöhrsee. Only the volleyball fields cannot be used yet, they are not yet suitable for play.
Initially, the special opening is limited to this weekend. However, it cannot be ruled out that the pool will open again the following weekend before the official swimming season traditionally starts on May 1st with the mayor’s arrival.
If you would like to find out more about Lake Wöhr in advance, you can visit the new special exhibition in the city museum at the castle. Under the motto “The Wöhrsee – more than just a swimming lake” it is shown, among other things, how the Wöhrsee basin should have become the zoo of the Bavarian dukes. The special exhibition including the permanent exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The city of Burghausen also offers a free city bus in the city area on Saturday and Sunday.
