This weekend at the exhibition center in Wels, it’s not just a little break from everyday life at the Wels Folk Festival that’s on the agenda: in exhibition hall 20, the exhibitors at the “Vacation & Excursion” trade fair are also awakening the desire to travel in all those who are looking for inspiration for holiday planning . “The topic of camping in particular is strongly represented again this year,” says trade fair director Petra Leingartner.
20 dealers exhibit vehicles from around 20 brands. All sizes are represented, from practical roof tents to caravans to luxury vehicles. “The dealers usually also offer vehicles for rental. Some of them can also be seen. Beginners who want to try camping can get an idea of the different options,” says Leingartner.
There are also numerous tourism exhibitors. In addition to Upper Austria and Bavaria, Slovenia in particular is strongly represented this year.
Culinary cuisine is becoming increasingly important in tourism: “Many destinations are now defined by their culinary offerings,” explains the trade fair director. The “Holiday & Excursion” trade fair takes this development into account with tastings in the “Genussplatzerl”.
There are also numerous other entertainment options: the Alpine Club has a climbing wall on site, and children can let off steam on a trampoline mat in the “Jump Dome”. “In combination with the Blühendes Österreich trade fair, which takes place at the same time, we offer a dense program so that the visit to the trade fair becomes a weekend excursion,” explains Leingartner.
