A 35-year-old is said to have shot his former partner (33) last October. The man pleaded guilty to the charge of murder and a violation of the weapons law; he denied bodily harm and dangerous threats. If convicted, you could face up to life in prison.
The bloody act dates back to October 21, 2023. At around 1:30 p.m., the Swedish national is said to have killed the woman in front of her family’s house with a “targeted shot in the head” from a pistol, the prosecutor said in her opening statement. The 33-year-old died on the spot. The accused initially fled, but shortly afterwards turned himself in at the Deutsch-Wagram police station and was arrested there.

The weapon used was found in the man’s car. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the 35-year-old owned the FEG pistol without authorization and is therefore also charged with Section 50 Paragraph 1 of the Weapons Act. The Swede is said to have bought the pistol in Vienna the day before the shot was fired.
Violent
The accused is likely to have committed violence before. On August 15, 2023, the 35-year-old allegedly punched the woman several times, and the victim suffered numerous bruises and a cut. According to the prosecutor, there was previously “an argument that escalated.” According to the indictment, the accused is also said to have threatened to kill the 33-year-old. A little later the fourth separation occurred.
The couple had four children together, but no longer lived together. A ban on entry and approach as well as a ban on weapons had been issued against the accused. According to the public prosecutor’s office, anger that he was no longer allowed to see his children was the motive for the crime. Defense attorney Astrid Wagner put this into perspective, saying that the renewed separation had “pulled the ground out from under the Swedish citizen’s feet.” The 35-year-old is “certainly not a cold-blooded murderer.”
