Digital announcements instead of recorded voices at Linz Linien

The electronic timetable information (EFA) on the LINZ AG website will appear in a new look from April 8th, is even more functional and can also be accessed perfectly on a mobile phone.

Linz AG Linien is announcing two digitization boosts for next week. From Monday, the usual recorded voice in the vehicles will be history. It will be replaced by digital voice announcements, meaning complex studio recordings will no longer be necessary. The software used is already used in many countries and languages. Written text is converted into a pleasant, neutral speaking voice.

New design for timetable information

The second innovation concerns the electronic timetable information on the Linz AG website, which will appear in a new design from Monday and thus bring new functionality. The focus is on a new map display, and expanded functions include a point of interest display. “The two services also complement each other ideally. While the new public transport announcements focus on essential information about scheduled services, the electronic timetable information offers many additional functions such as a comprehensive and quickly accessible ‘point of interest’ display,” says Linz AG -Board Director Jutta Rinner.
