The 18-year-old from the Steyr-Land district was traveling with his quad bike on the Grübler municipal road in the municipality of Schenkenfelden from Reichenau towards the center of Schenkenfelden together with his 17-year-old friend, also from the Steyr-Land district.
In the Schild area, they left the road on a straight stretch of road for reasons that are still unclear and crashed into several trees in an adjacent forest.
Both were seriously injured and, after receiving emergency medical treatment, were taken by rescue helicopter “Christophorus 10” or by ambulance to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz or to the Freistadt Clinic.
