The leader and presidential candidate of Cabildo Abierto (CA), Guido Manini Ríosonce again insisted on the idea that his political strength “is growing” at the national level, despite the fact that different surveys show a decrease in his party’s voting intention for the elections. Elections 2024compared to those of 2019.

Last Saturday, within the framework of the launch of the group Cimarrones, led by Agr. Eng. Alvaro FernandezSenator Manini Ríos assured Telenoche that the new political space “confirms what they are perceiving about the growth of Council (Open“)”. “There are new national currents that have been developing in recent months, we have more than a hundred groups throughout the country.”

Likewise, he explained that these groups will be “competing for their spaces” in their respective departments and in currents at the national level, something that is “invigorating” the adhesions to the party.

“We are really convinced (that) CA is going to grow, that the 2019 vote is going to be the floor for the 2024 vote,” emphasized Manini Ríos, who is also sure that his political strength will reach the signatures for the plebiscite against usury before April 27, in its campaign called “For a fair debt”.

According to Manini Ríos, in recent days there has been a “clear intensification” in the collection of signatures, since “Uruguayans leave everything to the last minute” and now “they are worried asking about the ballots.”

“There are abuses in the hands of private creditors and the State”

“There are people who realize (that) they have a golden opportunity, a unique opportunity to end years and years of abuses at the hands of creditors that flagrantly violate the Constitution applying usury on their credits, and when I say creditors I say private and also the State“said the lobbyist.

This Sunday, at a campaign event in the Plaza Museo Memoria de Punta de Rieles (Montevideo)Manini Ríos called on those present to “take advantage of the opportunity” and warned: “If we do not sign before the 27th (of April) it is because we do not want, well, then to cry in the little room, to complain all our lives, to complain”, he concluded.
