Emergency medical helicopters and police were on duty on Monday afternoon after a serious traffic accident in the municipality of Sankt Konrad (Gmunden district): a 28-year-old motorcyclist hit the back of a van at an intersection near the town of Edt.

The biker probably noticed too late that the vehicle in front of him had to stop due to traffic. The 28-year-old suffered such serious injuries in the accident that he had to be taken to the hospital in Wels by emergency medical helicopter “Martin 3”, the police said on Monday evening.
