The handcuffs clicked for five men from the Republic of Moldova early on Monday morning in Linz: They had been staying illegally with fake EU documents in a workers’ dormitory in the state capital. The police had been investigating since the beginning of the year. At that time, a document expert from the Tumeltsham Foreign and Border Police seized a fake Bulgarian ID card during a check. This belonged to a man who was staying in the dormitory in Linz.
Weapons and drugs seized
On Monday around 5:30 a.m., officers from the Leopoldschlag police station carried out checks – and found what they were looking for. Four workers showed fake Bulgarian ID cards, one Moldovan identified himself with a Romanian ID card. The police also found a blank pistol, a sword, a hunting knife, narcotics and various stolen goods. The five accused were arrested and taken to the Linz police detention center, the police announced on Monday evening.
