Joe Biden’s activities as President of the United States are not satisfied with 55% of the country’s population, including 44% strongly disapprove of the work of the American leader. This is evidenced by data from a poll conducted from December 11 to 13 by The Marist Institute, published on Monday, December 20.
The survey involved 1,400 Americans over the age of 18.
“This is Biden’s highest negative rating since taking office,” the service’s website says.
In addition, the approval rating of the President of the United States was reported to be 41%, and it has not surpassed the 50% mark since June.
It is noted that the statistical error of the survey is 4.1 percentage points.
According to a similar poll published on October 31 by NBC News, 54% of US citizens opposed Biden’s activities. At that time, the figure was up six points since August. In particular, seven out of ten survey participants, nearly half of whom are Democrats, believe the country is heading in the wrong direction.
At the same time, 42% of those polled were satisfied with the work of the American leader. This figure fell seven points compared to August.
It was noted that only Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump had a lower rate of approval for the activities of the President of the United States in 2017 (37%).
On August 23, a poll by The Hill showed a sharp drop in Biden’s rating to 49% among the US population after the seizure of Afghanistan by militants of the Taliban (the organization is under UN sanctions for terrorist activities). At the same time, at the beginning of the month, the activities of the American leader were approved by 55% of Americans.
In addition, in late August, members of the United States Republican Party called for the impeachment or resignation of Biden amid bombings in the Afghan capital.
