The volunteer fire departments of the city of Braunau (Aching, Braunau, Haselbach and Ranshofen) were alerted.
At the same time, the telephone in the state warning center was already running hot. While they were still there, they informed the operations manager that, according to the callers, several huts were already on fire.
Work began immediately to put out the fire. The fire-fighting water supply was ensured through a pipe to nearby Enknach. The numerous gas bottles in several grills and heaters posed a particular challenge.
A total of four fire departments were deployed. The extinguishing work was finished around 5:50 a.m.
