According to the police, the scuffle was probably triggered by insults from a 22-year-old to several young people. At first it was just verbal arguments, but the situation escalated around 3 a.m. At least ten boys between the ages of 16 and 22 attacked each other with kicks, massive punches and glass bottles.
At least two young people were injured, although a 20-year-old was only later found lying on the ground by police officers not far from the town square. He was taken to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Vöcklabruck.
Since the fight was filmed by bystanders, a large number of the accused could be found, identified and controlled, the police reported.
Six district patrols had to intervene and two emergency vehicles were called to the scene.
