Pope Francis once again called for a “ceasefire” in Gaza

The Argentine pontiff once again asked for a “ceasefire in Gaza” and that “the path of negotiation” be followed, “helping this population mired in a humanitarian catastrophe” and the “immediate release of the hostages kidnapped months ago.”

He also urged that “with determination we help the population precipitated in a humanitarian catastrophe and the hostages kidnapped months ago be quickly released. “So much suffering! Let us pray for peace.”.

The Italian Presidency of G7 has called this Sunday a video conference with the leaders of the world’s seven richest democracies to discuss the attack, while the UN Security Council will hold an emergency session at Israel’s request.
