Israel and Iran accusations were exchanged this Sunday during the meeting of the Security Council of the UN emergency call after iranian attack which took place this Saturday. The Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, stated that the region “is on the brink of the abyss.”
In the meeting called at the request of Israel, its ambassador, Gilad Erdan, urged that body to “Act” and demanded that “all possible sanctions be imposed on Iran before it is too late.”
Erdan warned that Iran “is closer than ever to the nuclear bomb” and insisted that the UN take urgent measures to contain the advance of Iranian forces.
Iran said that His attack came in response to a deadly offensive aerial attack on April 1 against the Tehran consulate in Damascus, the Syrian capital, attributed to Israel. The ambassador of the Islamic Republic to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, argued that his country “he had no choice but to exercise his right to self-defense.”
This attack killed seven members of the Revolutionary Guard, including two senior officers, and sparked threats of retaliation from Iran. Tehran accused Israel of this fact, which neither confirmed nor denied it.
The UN warned of the effects of a deepening conflict between Iran and Israel

The United States said Sunday that it will not join any retaliation against Iranwhile the president Joe Biden warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “think carefully” about any escalation.
