According to the police, at around 7:35 p.m. on Münzbacherstrasse L1423 in the area of the “Münzbacher feeder road” in the municipality of Perg, the woman skidded in her car in a long left-hand bend for an unknown reason, crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the oncoming car 20-year-old from the Perg district.

The 33-year-old was trapped in her vehicle and had to be rescued from the car by the Perg and Naarn fire departments. She was seriously injured and is being treated at the Kepler University Hospital in Linz after initial treatment. The 20-year-old was injured to an unspecified degree and was taken to the Linz accident hospital after receiving first aid.
Due to the rescue operation and the subsequent cleaning work, Münzbacherstrasse in the area of the accident site had to be completely closed for around 2 hours. Traffic was diverted over a large area.
From a training scenario to an emergency
The comrades from the Perg fire department had trained for exactly that situation just a few hours earlier: Together with the Naarn fire department and the Red Cross, the helpers had practiced the scenario “accident with several people trapped”.
