The presentation of suspicion against the ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko of treason will not affect the situation inside the country. This was announced to reporters in the Ivano-Frankivsk region on Tuesday, December 21, by the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I don’t think this will affect the situation inside our state. The situation within the state is usually influenced by financial groups, ”he explained.
On December 20, the ex-secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchinov said that Poroshenko was suspected of treason.
On the same day, Poroshenko was summoned for interrogation. The politician’s lawyer, Ilya Novikov, said that Poroshenko would not come for interrogation, since the summons were “written out in the wrong way.”
On November 12, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov said that the special service is checking the possible involvement of Poroshenko and the ex-head of the National Bank Valeria Gontareva in treason when purchasing coal from Donbass.
