The 33-year-old, who works for LC Sicking, underlined his outstanding form at the championships in Regensburg, Germany, improving his personal best by 40 seconds to 30:39.82. He relegated Valentin Pfeil (LAC Amateure Steyr) to third place. Things were even more pleasing for Lisa Oberndorfer from LCAV Jodl Packaging: The 24-year-old from Redlham won her first state championship title in Regensburg and improved her previous best time by almost two minutes (34:38.95).
