City wants to motivate students to read again

The city wants to promote reading and provides library cards to interested second graders.

In the city library on Bahnhofstrasse there are more than 36,000 different media available to borrow: from books to magazines, newspapers, games, CDs, DVDs and Tonie figures. In a specially designed children’s corner, young library visitors can comfortably browse through the works. So that the children get to know the city library better and are motivated to read, youth officer Vice Mayor Anna-Maria Demmelmayr provides all Steyr second graders with a library card. With this ID card, students can borrow media free of charge for six months as they wish.
