He had everything but no sense of injustice. A 32-year-old, who lives in the Gmunden district but has Italian and Argentine citizenship, even left the police perplexed on Monday.
The officers became aware of the man on Salzkammergutstrasse (B145). At around 8:20 a.m. he drove through the Pinsdorf area on his motorcycle at a very high speed towards Vöcklabruck. The police began the pursuit and were able to identify numerous administrative violations. But it wasn’t until they stopped and checked the 32-year-old that things really started to move. Right at the beginning, the self-proclaimed racing driver stated that the police officers could not take his driver’s license because colleagues had already done so before them. He simply doesn’t have one anymore.
At the same time, however, he identified himself with two Argentine driving licenses – both were fake and were confiscated. And the 32-year-old’s motorcycle was also not registered for traffic. He was riding with the license plates of a friend whose motorcycle he was repairing.
The officials slowly became suspicious and finally subjected the Italian Argentinian to a rapid drug test. It was – now unsurprisingly – positive. The medical officer determined he was unfit to drive. A little later, things became even more unpleasant for the 32-year-old: the police found out that the man had unpaid administrative fines amounting to four-digit euros. The list became too long for the officers: the man was arrested. In Linz he is now serving his substitute prison sentence in the police detention center.
