Angelika Doppelbauer has enriched Upper Austria’s art scene for years – as a cultural mediator, art historian, curator and most recently as director of the Schloss Parz gallery. Her book “Museum der Vermittlung” is recommended to anyone who would like to deepen the approaches of the Welserin. For the “art on display” project, Doppelbauer has now teamed up with business economist and cultural mediator Monika Klinger. Together with selected works by Upper Austrian artists for companies, they curate the employees’ home office for the individual exhibition space. The works can be seen in online meetings and also offer the opportunity to have an introductory discussion about art. Doppelbauer: “We get to know the company and think about art, which art could fit the corporate philosophy and the employees. Then we approach the artists with a loan request. It’s not about decorative living room decoration, we have a certain claim.” The costs for the company are 1,500 euros and the work is thus also insured. The works will be delivered ready for exhibition, with accompanying text and mediation tools, after which there may be a subsequent purchase of the works.
The project is one of twelve submissions supported by the “EXTRA 2021” special funding program from the Province of Upper Austria and the Upper Austrian Culture Platform (Kupf). Everyone benefits: The atmosphere and culture of the companies and Upper Austria’s artists.
