In Altaussee (712 meters above sea level), the snow was already falling down to the valley on Tuesday morning, but it was still far from enough to form a real blanket. In the coming days, the snowfall line is expected to drop below 500 meters above sea level, and heavier snow showers are expected at short notice, especially on Thursday. Meteorologists expect around 40 centimeters of fresh snow on the mountains of the Salzkammergut by Saturday. There is currently no improvement in sight.
