Apparently a shot was fired from a discarded target shooting rifle, the police said in a release. The 51-year-old owner of the weapon had previously placed it on the counter. The 59-year-old came over and both Austrians were handling the rifle. According to the person who was later injured, no one had the gun in their hand when the shot went off.
This pierced the 59-year-old’s left thigh. The Austrian was taken to the Reutte district hospital after first aid by the emergency services. According to the police, the owner of the rifle stated that it had a low trigger pull. Accordingly, a shot could be fired with even a slight movement.
