Nine palliative care specialists cared for 553 patients, and 21 volunteer women and men accompanied 161 patients and their relatives through the dying process with dignity.

The palliative care team made 6,700 hours of work in 3,200 home visits, and the volunteers made 2,200 hours of work in 1,123 home visits. “Our team traveled 67,261 kilometers without an accident,” says CEO Christine Eckmayr.

Five physiotherapists are new to the hospice team. “Your home visits to our palliative patients help them to spend their remaining time with greater independence and dignity.” A special offer is the “Hospice makes schools” project. Specially trained volunteers organize workshops in schools. Young people are encouraged to deal openly with death and grief.

Establishment of a GmbH

“As an association, we have decided to spin off the business into our own company,” explained Eckmayr. “The establishment of a GmbH as a 100 percent owner enables us to clearly differentiate between ongoing operations and our club activities.” The managing director of the GmbH is Johann Minihuber, he is supported by Daniela Feregyhazy-Astecker as operations manager and Andrea Peterwagner as commercial manager.
