Felix Ritzinger has done it: The Felt-Felbermayr professional cyclist qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris together with three teammates. At the decisive World Cup in Milton, Canada, the Austrian team secured the starting place for the track competitions. What was necessary for this was a place among the top five nations in the Madison. Behind the major cycling nations of the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal, the Austrians came fifth in a close duel behind the Czech Republic and thus took part in the Olympics in France.
The Austrians also qualified for the Omnium, an all-around competition on the track. “Our joy is enormous, a dream is coming true,” says Felix Ritzinger.
The Viennese is one of the most versatile drivers in the Wels team. Last year, Ritzinger also impressed as the first Austrian gravel champion. This cycling sport, which is becoming increasingly popular, is primarily carried out on gravel routes.
