Kreisler*in at the Steyr Green Market is closing

With a heavy heart, Volkshilfe confirms what has been making the rounds in Steyr for a long time: “In the middle of this year, we have to close the Kreisler*in at Steyrer Grünmarkt, which opened in autumn 2021, for economic reasons,” says Volkshilfe department manager Fred Edlinger to the Steyrer Zeitung. Current operations will run until the end of May “and we hope that customers will remain loyal to us until then.” The closure primarily affects the staff: the three full-time employees were informed by the employer about the possibility of educational leave and are currently reviewing the situation in collaboration with the AMS.

“The start in Steyr was challenging from the start, especially the Corona period kept setting us back,” says Edlinger. Even after the pandemic, the hoped-for customer frequency did not materialize. “We kept having to accept losses.”
