The Austrian’s car was checked at the Wullowitz border crossing late on Wednesday afternoon. The officers not only found the stabbing weapon, but also a magazine and 5,000 euros in cash. The 57-year-old tried to hide the money and items behind panels in his vehicle.
Due to a weapons ban, the bayonet was removed and confiscated. The responsible public prosecutor’s office ordered the defendant to be released, the police said on Thursday afternoon.
