Fire brigade, rescue and police were in action on the L509 near Vöcklamarkt on Friday evening: two cars collided at an intersection near the Grieß district around 6:30 p.m. Due to an unsuccessful turning maneuver, the two vehicles collided almost head-on. Due to the force of the impact, the car of a 50-year-old driver from Vöcklabruck was thrown against an oncoming truck.
The woman and her other party in the accident, a 24-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district, sustained such serious injuries that they had to be taken to hospital by the rescue team. The 29-year-old driver of the truck survived the accident unharmed. The police said on Saturday afternoon that all three vehicles involved suffered significant damage.
