Accident with 1.74 per mille: Innviertler (24) lost his driver’s license

Two seriously damaged vehicles, two slightly injured people and a driver’s license being taken away: This is the result of a traffic accident on Saturday in the municipality of St. Aegidi (Schärding district): A 24-year-old local man got behind the wheel of a car while drunk at around 12:30 p.m. On the L517, while driving towards Neukirchen am Walde, he lost control of the car that belongs to his father and drove into the oncoming lane. There he collided with the car of a 65-year-old Innviertel man.

Two women slightly injured

While both drivers survived the accident unscathed, the 65-year-old’s passengers complained of slight chest pain. The women aged 65 and 40 went to see a doctor on their own. An alcohol test showed the 24-year-old had a blood alcohol level of 1.74, the police said in response to OÖN’s request in the afternoon. He had to give up his driver’s license temporarily. Both cars were totaled.
